I just got my back handspring with no help and i really want to be a cheerleader, should i for it!

Of course you should... If this is something you want, you should go for it! As a coach I can tell you that a backhandspring is not an easy skill to learn or teach with no gymnastics/tumbling background. If you have already gained this skill wothout much help, you may very well be a natural. On another note, some cheer programs don't judge solely on tumbling skills... Tumbling is great, but it doesn't make a cheerleader, make sure that you work on the whole package; jumps motions, dance, etc. If you have the potential and the drive, most cheer programs would jump at the bit to have you. The attitude is important as well, tumbling can be taught, determination, spirit, and want can't be. So I say go for it, and have a blast doing it....Good Luck!

That is pretty good that you can do a back handspring without taking gymnastics. I say that you should go for it, why not try you have nothing to lose.
