Conventional tumble driers are the bees knees, blowing hot air through the clothes. Condensing driers are a waste of space. Theory is sound but they are pants. Put your washing in a condensing drier Friday, get it dry by Tuesday (week). Also washer/driers which are usually the condensing type are the most unreliable domestic white goods you can own.

With a normal tumble drier there is a hose on the back that has to go out the window or through a hole in the wall to extract the excess water vapour. With a condenser dryer the water collects in a tray at the bottom which you can emtpy, it saves having a long hose coming out of it. The condenser dryer is much better and more practical.

conventional needs a hose to take the vapour away. usually put in a wall like an extractor fan. the condenser model has a small water tank in it which u need to empty now and then. i have a condenser cos i have no outside wall space for a venting kit model. means u can put the drier anywhere. well worth the extra money.

The vapour from a conventional dryer is dispersed outside the machine, usually with a hose going out of the window. A condensing dryer gets rid of the moisture inside the machine. I have had a condenser for about 12 years with no problems

They are both efficient.
What you need depends on whether or not you can vent the hot air outside or not.
If not, then you need a condensing drier, which will have a container where the steam will condense. You will have to remove it and empty out the water once in a while.

a vented dryer requires a hose that can be put out of a window or through a fixed venting system in the wall, whereas a condenser collects the water in a tray or chamber. the condenser dryer is usually more expensive and you will need to empty it on a regular basis. i prefer vented but it depends on where you can put the dryer and how much you are prepared to spend at the end of the day!

With a conventional dryer you generally need a hose to expel condensation, therefore it needs to be placed near a window or door for the hose to go outside with a condensing dryer this is not nessesary

Hope this helps
