There are great albums by some of the masters of Jazz.
Dexter Gordon has a compilation cd called Ballads. It is amazing. Very mellow.
Stan Getz compilation called Stan Getz For Lovers is also great for just before sleeping.
Ben Webster's album At the Renaissance is very laid back and interesting.
Michael Brecker's album The nearness of You is great.
Kenny Burrell's album Midnight Blue is a really great mellow bossa nova flavored album. The title fits the music.
Bill Evans and Jim Hall have a great duet album called Undercurrent. Just piano and guitar.
Gerry Mulligan Meets Ben Webster is a great album also.
The self titled album by Sarah Vaughan is another great. Clifford Brown plays trumpet.
I suggest these albums, and I also listen to them just before bed myself. Not only are they mellow, they are really, really good (in my opinion).

Listen to ballad or swing jazz.. Don't pick the complicated one... I listen to Diana Krall, Oscar Peterson, Renee Olstead, or monty alexander before I go to bed.. My favorite songs : Someday My Prince Will Come, My Romance, My one and only love, All or Nothing at All.. They help me having a good dream..

There's nothing better than "Round Midnight" by Thelonious Monk. It's one of his best.
