Generally, it is easier and more convenient, and SAFER to adjust the water temperature and flow rate with a single handle faucet. The twisting action required with the two-handle unit is less convenient than the single handle variety. Also, the single handle type greatly reduces the risk of scalding one's hand, or your child's. If the situation requires it, one can turn on the single handle unit with an elbow. The newer units, both single and double handled, are very reliable and require little, if any, maintenance. The single handle units are less cumbersome and typically easier to keep clean, as well. Hope this helps.

I would have to go with two handled. If your faucet develops a leak it could become costly if it is leaking hot water. You could turn off just the leaky faucet until you got it fixed and still have one working faucet. Plus, if you have kids or older people in the house it is safer. red is hot blue is cold. how much simpler could that be?

I agree with Popcorn's answer (above). I have the single-handled type of faucets in my bathroom. They are easy to use and adjust water temperature. Plus I can turn the faucet off easily with my elbow if my hands are still wet.

One handed ones are nice for bathroom faucets, and two handled ones for showers.

Comes down to whichever you think looks better. The two handled are easier to maintain, I think, because they only require a washer change or a "kit" to stop drips when the get worn. The single handled is harder to repair as it requires many more parts, Really up to you.

I prefer the single handle since it's more convenient and works just as well as he two handled. Most single handled ones don't have washers like the other so your not always changing washers etc.

I don't think that there is a best in this case...I think it would be more of a preference. But I do prefer the single handle.
