mainly because they are not trying to ask a question so much as they are trying to make a point and stick a '?' mark on the end to make it look like a question. ppl forget this is not a discussion board but to ask questions and get answers, there are all kinds of blogs to discuss views and make your political (or any other) point.

The response made by ... It's you! deserves repeating so here it is...
"mainly because they are not trying to ask a question so much as they are trying to make a point and stick a '?' mark on the end to make it look like a question. ppl forget this is not a discussion board but to ask questions and get answers, there are all kinds of blogs to discuss views and make your political (or any other) point." I (KnowSomeStuff) will add the following however: K-A needs to re-engineer this entire Answers concept.. it is not working as intended and being used/abused by uninformed/biased/sophomoric individuals. This could have been a good format for providing insight and sources for those "searching" for legitimate information on a given topic.

In my own case, I asked a question about the Treaty of Tripoli, wherein our founders literally signed a document saying America was not a Christian nation. I asked this because I'd just learned about it and thought it was interesting and wanted to share the info.
In addition, I wanted to see how people would respond to the information and if anyone could provide reasons that the Treaty wasn't relevant.
I'm sure there are many reasons people ask such questions, insecurity being only one of them.

to the question, like said before, they are not really asking questions to get answers, the questions are designed to reach a point. it all comes down to the media.... specifically cable news. when you have news that used to be covered in 1 hr a day, and spend all day with it, you get alot more filler material..... the spinsters are happy to fill that time, so much that we frequently forget that what they are saying is not really news anymore.
to those who think there is anyway to remove this from this yahoo format.... how often do you look at politics?!? any political forum will have this weakness. fortunately, if you want real questions and answers, just don't look under politics.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion. Freedom of Speech and all that. Well for some people it is available.
People just want to reach out and find other people who agree with them. Maybe not insecurity but just human nature.
The real insecure groups will eventually gang up on those that do not agree with them and invade their country.

That's a very good question and a very good point. I never really thought about it the way you just pointed it out.
