Sounds like your video driver has become corrupted. If it's stuck on 640x480 that usually means it's using the window's default driver.

On that same settings tab hit the advanced button then go to the adapter tab and see if it's showing the correct graphics card installed. If not, then reinstall your video drivers.

In the future.....you can setup a user account for little sis and set it up without administrative privlages. That way it would limit the damage she can do.

Try updating you video card drivers (Start > Run > Type dxdiag and press enter > Click the Display tab to determine what video card you've got then search for it's drivers online.)

Or maybe try using Windows XP System restore to restore your PC to the previous day. Start > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

Font size-
View -> Text Size -> Increase/Normal/Decrease
Ctrl++ (hold the control key and hit the plus key) makes the text larger.
Ctrl+- (hold the control key and hit the minus key) makes the text smaller.
Ctrl+0 (hold the control key and hit zero) makes the text normal size.
Ctrl+scroll mouse wheel

its probably a garphics driver problem.... do a system restore to a time before this error occured and it'll set evrything back the way it was when that restore was created but it will keep all your saved files and stuff....

Start up your computer, and at the black screen press f8,
choose start with last good known.
Hopefully that will reset it for you.
