well really radiation is just from some electrical eqiupment.
like televisions, sterios and proberly the pollution might have a bit of radiation in it could even be coming from cars and those electrical tower things

There are basically 3 really bad forms of radiation. Read the source below to learn more. 1. Alpha comes from a source like radioactive Cesium. That is why they are worried about Cesium in Japan. If it gets into the body it can do terrible damage or cause cancer. It has a +2 electrical charge that can disrupt normal cell behavior and break chemical bonds. The Alpha particle itself is short range, but if the source gets into the body, then it is close enough! 2. Beta is a high energy electron that was shot out of the smashed atom. It is -1 electrical charge and can cause a line of broken chemical bonds several inches into soft tissue. This also causes cell damage. 3. Gamma is a radio wave of high frequency that can penetrate all the way through the body and also disrupt chemical bonds, again harming the body. It is the hardest one to stop. Gamma rays are used in factories to measure the thickness of steel and control milling machines to exact tolerances. :-D There is radiation all around us, but it has been that way for millions of years. We just have to be careful not to be exposed to high doses of it!

the reason why there is radiation around us is that elements formed a long long long time ago are decaying, the natural radiation in our body is decaying, and the radiation from the sun heats the earth
when something radioactive decays it turns into a different element and gives of radiation
for example radon is produced when uranium decays thats why u should check ur home for radon because some stone has uranium in it
bananas have potassium-40 in them but the amount of radioactivity is so low that it can hardly be detected if u smoke u can get lung cancer because of the radon in the smoke

you get radiation from television,it is best to sit at least 15 feet away from the TV. You are expose to gamma radiation from the Sun everyday..The antenna from radio & tv stations give out radiation all around us. The more frequent you use cell phone, the more you will be expose to radiation. So take heed folks!

hmmm a simple one! we get radiation from the sun in the form of gamma, infra-red, ultraviolet & x-ray radiation, however this is only small amounts. There is also A radioactive noble gas called radon that is formed by the decay of radium, radon is one of the heaviest gases and is considered to be a health hazard. however there is a more stable isotope which is used in radiotherapy. Radon gas can accumulate in buildings, and in drinking water. hope this helps

TV and radio transmitters of all kinds, they kick out quite a bit.
Radar on planes, boats, etc.
Mobile Phone masts.
Mobile phones, (do you worry about having a radio transmitter that close to your brain?).
The Sun sends quite a lot, thankfully mostly heat and light gets through the atmosphere, but there can be a lot of UV rays in the Summer.
Been on a tanning bed?
How many X rays have you had?
Whatever you do, DON'T PANIC!
Not yet, anyway.

Pretty much everything gives off radiation - people (heat/thermal/infrared), appliances (microwave), bricks (gamma radiation in VERY low levels), even the sky (pretty much every type you can think of, but mostly microwave).
