more is better

Unless you have an application that you KNOW will require the extra memory (like heavy photoshop work), 2gb is probably all you'll need. Getting 4gb just puts you in better position now, instead of having to upgrade your memory 2 years down the road when newer software may require it.

If you're buying a computer for gaming and don't already have at least a GeForce 7900GT or Radeon X1900, go with 2gb and put that money you save into a better video card instead. There's a HUGE performance disparity between $100 video cards and those around $250- having a capable graphics adapter is much more important to game speed than going from 2Gb to 4gb.

anything over 2gb will not be noticeable. you should spend the money on the best 2gb you can find.
I think getting a fast hard drive makes a bigger difference, because even with 4gb of the fastest ram on the planet paired with the fastest cpu wont load quickly if you have a crappy hard drive, and even windows will lag.
Go with a SATA II hard drive, or you can get 2 and make a raid, which is considerably faster. that would be much much more noticeable than an extra 2gb of ram.
Above everything else, If you are only interested in all out gaming performance, spend all the money on a geforce 8800. A computer with 512mb of ram and an old hdd would murder any computer in any game as long as it had a 8800.

More is better, but buy only as much as you can afford. When I went from 512MB to 2GB, my performance went through the roof! It was a cheap $200 update. To get that much performance increase again, I'd end up having to buy a new motherboard, CPU, new RAM, and some IDE adapter cards (since all of my drives are ATA100).

I have 2GB of memory, and I have had no problems. Unless you expect to be running very extreme applications, and many at a time, 2GB is a very hefty amount.

2gb sounds like enough to me. Since you want to get 4gb i presume you have 4 slots for ram so you can upgrade whenever you want.

well 4Gb is going to be better but if 4Gb means you dont have the best processor then get 2GB and upgrade your processor and possibly other stuff like graphics card and sound card ect....

if you are asking ram it is as per your requirements any requirement should be working at 2GB of RAM.
If you are asking about Hard disk it is a very small space & also it is not available in market.
If you are asking about Flash drives the 4 GB one will be the best.

The more the better, because all the junk on the internet slows down your computer tramendously. You'll be a lot happier with 4G

The more space you have the faster and better your computer will be. So i think you should get the 4GB

2 gb should be plenty for almost anything such as games running various programs....but if you do a lot of video compressions or work a lot with photo's and stuff like that 4 GB woultdnt be a bad idea either.
