Aha.....I just come from the HDB this morning.....

3I - 3 room improved
3Ng - 3 room new generation...
4A - the best of the 4 rooms
4S - 4 room simplfied
4 Ng - new generation

there are so many designs rights now and Iwould suggest that you get a floor plan from your local HDB branch office just to verify.

These are jargons used by real estate agents to describe the profile of the HDB flat design. Some are more desirable than others eg large space, double floors etc. Any real estate agents should be able to guide you.
