The referee plays a huge role in the outcome of each game.

Too often the refs make the difference in the game. Last year's superbowl should have been won by Pittsburgh, but the refs took the lustre from the game with their ticky-tack fouls. And as a Raider fan, I'd love to get my hands on Norm Coleman for a good 5 minutes.

I truly think that in some games, certain referee's make too many ticky tac calls, and then some seem to be blind. Sometimes the same referees in the same game. It really makes one wonder doesn't it????

No and yes -- he manages the field but the feild is conrolled by the players -- they run catch and fall on there own
