As a nurse I will tell you that having sex for the first time does not have any effect on your periods. However, being stressed out and sick can have effects on your menstrual cycle. My question is what type of birth control are you on? Most birth control will regulate your period except for some like Depo which will cause it to be irregular or absent. Have you talked with your healthcare professional as to why you are still irregular with your period? Maybe you need to switch to something different. As for pregnancy I can't say either way. With your irregular cycle, being stressed out and sick, and the fact that you had sex I can't say your pregnant or not. I would suggest taking a pregnancy test because of all the factors involved. If it turns out to be postitive than I would make an appointment with your physician to have him/her to a professional pregnancy test.

First of all, having sex for the very first time will NOT prolong your period... and if it was erratic from the start, then that's normal for you. There are lots of girls/women with irregular periods. However, if you missed a whole month, then there's a tiny, tiny chance you could have become pregnant, even WITH a condom. -- condoms are not 100% safe. There have been instances where girls have gotten pregnant even though protection was used. And a girl can get pregnant her very first time as well.
On the other hand, it COULD just be extreme stress that has stopped your cycle. Stress is a HUGE culprit, as is a severe exercise regime; perhaps even being ill has something to do with it. My advice to you is see a doctor.
For one thing, the unexplained weight loss should be checked out, and while you're there, tell the doctor about your lack of a period. It could be something as simple as your hormonal cycle being off track. Good luck.

Stress can keep you from getting your period, as can going OFF of birth control. You need to take a chill pill and get a pregnancy check every week or so until you have had your period.

Go to the store - a grocery store, walmart, any drug store, get a pregnancy test and do it. You can get pregnant the first time you have sex, being sick can throw off your periods, being irregular with birth control pills can too, being stressed out and wondering if you are pregnant can too. You need to find out ifyou're pregnant.

Buy a home pregnancy test . They are accurate and sensitive. You don't even need to have missed your period to get an accurate reading.
