B/c they Love you more than anything and they want to protect you from all the freaky things that are out there. Parents really do know what they are talking about even when they seem super overprotective

Because we love our children & would like to be able to protect them from the MANY dangers in this world. Even though we know that we can't protect you from all of it, we want to protect you from what we can. And even when we know that we need to let go to let you make mistakes on your own, it is very, very hard to do. And I have known some dads that were/are just as over cautious as the moms are. It is part of being a parent, which you will understand one day when/if you have kids!! And one day, you will also be grateful for that over protective mom or dad! Until then, you're going to have to put up with it!!!! And be happy that she cares because there are a lot of parents that don't!

Moms want the best for thier family. They are protective towards there children in many ways. Especially in this day in age with myspace and chat rooms moms may be extra protective.

Mothers are hard-wired to protect their children. It's hard to let go of that, even when their kids get older, because most mothers remember the mistakes that they made as kids. Kids, and even young adults, have to be allowed to make their own mistakes and learn their own lessons, but it is enormously difficult to stand back and let that happen. Mothers, for the most part, just want what's best for their children. Try to keep that in mind when you're tearing your hair out because she's driving you crazy.

You don't explain your situation...but although I am considered a cool mom (by my teenage boy) I still try to protect him from the zoo out there...I am a little flexible (or seem to be) but its hard to be a mom...I know is harder to be a kid and even if It really hurts me to accept it...yeah momma knows best....I felt the same way when I was growing up..and know that I am a mommy myself I can understand why my mom was like that...and trust me honey I had it really tough!
take care

I think moms are overprotective because they don't want to see their kids suffer. They forget that sometimes it's the only way we learn, when we get in trouble. The thing is that at the end we always end up asking for there help, and they end up saying I told you! I prefer doing what they say, because they know better, they were kids once, They've been there and done that.

Becasuse that's the way God made us. U r his child only given to us to teach you the way of the world and keep you safe from harm until he is ready for you to come home. Being a mother is a test for us too. U will understand better when you can call yourself mother...

Because we love our children and don't want to see them get hurt, lied to, or do the stupid things that we have already done and regretted BIG TIME.
