okay im black and i keep reading this ignorance so im making my own question!! lol k..ive heard a minority of white ppl asking why they cant say the n word, why they dont have a white history month, white entertainment television, etc. i just have one thing to say ...ARE YOU F*CKING SETIOUS?! there is definitely a subconcious racist mentality behind these kind of questions..first off the "n word" has been used for centuries to demean and belittle blacks as if they were less than human. its original meaning is "ignorant" but white supremacists have turned it into such a racially charged word that NO ONE in modern society should use it. BLACK PPL SHOULDNT USE IT AS WELL AS WHITES! cracker shouldnt be used either but you just cant compare the two at all! as for white entertainment tv and white history month..what a dumbass idea. we have minority specific television programs and months to appreciate the lesser groups in society. almost everything we learn about in history is white history.

I agree with you when you say that absolutely no one should use the "n" word. I think most white people ask why they can't say it because they hear some black people use it all the time, in rap songs, movies, etc. I've wondered about it myself. However, I have to disagree about not being able to compare the two ideas of BET and WET, black history and white history, etc. Wouldn't it be easier to just incorporate more minority specific shows into all of the networks? Then we wouldn't need either one, BET or WET. The same thing should be done with the history months. If we taught simply "history" in schools, the history of every ethnic group that we need to know about, we wouldn't need a black history month or a white history month, either. That seems to be the best solution to me.

i lived in halifax nova scotia, in the north end. i was right across the street from public housing, and in my nieghbourhood there were alot of colored people. i have nothing against them at all, i was even friends with my nieghbours who were black. but it dont make any sense to me what the difernce between a black person saying it and a white person saying it is. i have heard colored people saying the n word to each other in a joking tone amung friends and there was nothing wrong with it to them, but if a white person from that same group of friends said it in the same way, it was a insult. this made no sense to me. i have also heard the word in rap music. it is just a word. i know that there is a bad conection to it, and that it was originally a derogitory term. but the same goes for all bad words, what about the f word, are we going to ban that too?
we are all the same on the inside, so why do we celebrate our differnces insted of our similarities? i think if we would concentrate more on how we are all the same insted of how we are difernt from eachother then we may not have a problem with discrimination,

I totally agree. First of all the "N" word should be banished all together....it is a word intended to belittle people, I don't like to hear ANYONE using it. It's plain disrespectful. Second of all, white people are so used to having everything that they cant stand to let any one else have something, especially Blacks. Are you kidding me ?? "ONE" BET, and a MONTH, (the SHORTEST) in a year dedicated to Black history, and they got to " have one too" ? Give me a break!!!! We deserve the little we have, no, not because someone owes us something ( for those of you who were thinking it) but because we are important people to this country too, read your history books.... that's a fact.

I totally hear what you're saying Cookie. I agree with much of what you're saying. First of all people ask why they can't use the N word. Why would they want to? I think it is an ignorant word and the use of it shows the user's intelligence. I don't appreciate anyone using it in my presence white or black. Personally, if a someone calls me a ******* is has about as much sting as being called any other derogatory word like ******, whore, s.lut etc. Although it is no worse to me than anything other insult I don't appreciate being called any derogatory name period. Although I don't approve of even blacks using the word, I can understand why it is acceptable for black people to use it and not whites. Historically, when a white person used the word, it was usually followed by an a.ss whipping, lynching, water hose, etc. So for a white person to use the word today, regardless of their intent, connotes negativity and hatred. This idea of a forbidden slur is not exclusive to back people. Most ethnic groups have slurs that they can use among themselves that no one else is allowed to use. My boyfriend is Latino and he and his friends call each other Mojado, Beaners, Wet.backs, but if a person of another race called them that, they would have a serious problem.
As far as why there is not 'white entertainment television." Every channel on the television is white entertainment television. The purpose for ethnic specific programming is because ethnic groups have not and still are not being given equal representation on network television. Now we have BET, TV 1, Bet Jazz and Latinos have Galavision, Expresión Television, and many more Latin cable networks being launched.
We have Black history month and Hispanic heritage week because in schools you would otherwise not learn about the accomplishments of Blacks and Hispanics. Black history month started out as ***** history week. It was started by Dr. Carter Woodson as a way to teach black children about their heritage because they were not learning it in schools. In school when they teach American History, they teach WHITE American history. Here and there they will give you a few snippets about a Black person's contribution, but in general, the only time you learn about blacks is during black history month. Everybody learns in grade school that Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. But how many people know that Lewis Latimer invented the carbon filament for Edison's bulb?http://www.enchantedlearning.com/inventors/edison/lightbulb.shtml If blacks throughout history had been given equal opportunity and equal recognition as whites, there would be no need for Black History month. We would only need to learn AMERICAN history.

God Bless you little sister.

i are not getting it the two. seems to me that if G-d is all-powerful, omniscient, the Alpha and the Omega, the All it rather is -- then there is not something G-d lacks, and as a result not something G-d desires or needs -- alongside with worship and obedience. So why does G-d supposedly might desire to be believed in, in no way techniques worshiped -- to the component of punishing those with torture for all eternity for failing to have self assurance or worship????? seems to me it is the habit of a jealous, insecure, egotistical king or ruler with all-too-human frailties, shortcomings and faults, not that of the suited eternal source of the Universe. IOW, people who have self assurance that non-believers would be punished only would be unable to wrap their minds around the belief of a G-d it rather is previous human desires for admiration and worship. They make the G-d of their ideals small and petty, to in superb condition right into a length that their limited imaginations can cope with. they are certainly infants of a lesser G-d.

White people first of all cant understand how it feels to be black and called that word. On the other hand they cant understand why black people are very appalled (for the most part) at the use of the word by white people, when they will use it possibly hundreds of times a day to refer to themselves and other black people.

First off-to bro43456 or whatever the hell his name is; you make it seem as if it is a privilege to be enslaved and let go. LOL.."oh well uhhh if it werent for the whites you would still be slaves!''

????????

Why were we slaves anyhow?

If we were the equivalent to animals or monkeys why when freed, were we able to prosper in some way, shape, or form?

No one should justify the N-word, I mean its just not becoming.

No offense, but to the asker-white people are aware of the above, they just seem to like doing it because for some reason, I believe something is eating them up inside (some whites), otherwise why would they ask these questions (maybe out of fun, could be)...!?

Good bless everyone on Sunday ;)

My god child why do all the questions you answer and ask all have to do with race. Dont be offended but i sounds like you have some insecurities about who you are and trust i can understand where you are coming from being white and growing up around nuttin but black people made me a lil different to some people but i dont let it bother me just be happy about who u is and leave all this race stuff to politicians and ignorant folks. The more its talked about in the open the more ignorant people have a chance to respond about it, just leave it alone lil one. The grass is always greener on the other side
