nextJFK - aren't we Americans responsible for the actions of our democratically-elected government? Are ALL Muslims just as responsible for the actions of every other Muslim? Makes no sense to me...

No, but I am quick to point out that I didn't vote for most of these fools.
I have spent most of my life in the military (mostly in reserve status). I was in Iraq. It does bother me to see the innocent people suffering. I have no problem seeing the terrorists eliminated, but I don't know how that can be accomplished.
Obviously, we should never have invaded a country that hadn't attacked us, especially without a Declaration of War, but our politicians don't follow the law. They lie to us. The American people are not well educated. They believe our politicians and the media.
I voted for Pat Buchanan when he ran for president. Had he been elected, we never would have gotten into this mess. I don't know how we are going to get out. I feel sorry for the Iraqis. I have friends over there. They are friendly people.

As an American, I do apologize. Even though there may have been problems that Sadam Hussein created in Iraq, I feel as though it is the Iraqi people that should have fixed their situation. Lieing to the American people about "Weapons of Mass Destruction" and invading Iraq should never have been done.
Guilty? No, I do not feel guilty because I have not killed anyone in that country. I feel sad. I look at the news and everyday someone is dieing or hurt or maimed. Iraqis should take control of their country and make of it what they can. Life is always a struggle and more for some then others.
I don't condone killing and the Iraqis have to look at theirselves as well as the other countries that are there.

Americans have sacrificed the lives of some of the greatest people on the face of this earth. They gave their life so that people all over the world would know what freedom is. For you to ask such a question is a slap in the face to those who gave their lives for people like you.
Americans have given other countries way more than they deserve. They are the first ones to put the USA down; until they need us and they expect our young to die for them. What have you done to ensure your freedom to speak freely will never be taken away?

Did you ever notice that in the media they talk about the Iraqi Civilian deaths but they never say How many were killed by Terrorist forces? This is to make you think that its our wepons doing most of the killing. Dont ya think that american forces would love to chose the battleground between themselves and the terrorists to be outside civilian populations. This would be over in hours not years.. but the Terrorists are purposely fighting from civilian populations. Not only that but they are PURPOSELY targeting civilians.
We are losing the media war to this fight. the Terrorists know how to work the system and America and the rest of the world are buying it.. thats why things are not "working"

Nope..
Here's why.
First of all, the sanctions should have never affected the Iraqi people. During the time of those sanctions, Saddam milked it and used the money set aside for the people on his palaces he had built, to include the Victory of America palalce complex. He spent BILLIONS of dollars on himself and his family. Therefore, it was Saddam who killed the children of Iraq.
Second, I have spent a great deal of my time helping fix and emplace an infrastructure that Saddam ignored for the last 15 years. The Iraqi people, to include SUNNIS are THANKFUL we have come to offer our help.
I don't feel guilty at all. I'm glad we did it.

No. What Saddam did to his own people is not our fault. If anything, the Iraqis should thank us for liberating them from a cruel and oppressive dictator.

I apologize for not letting saddam kill all the kurds instead of just 1/3. I apologize for not letting saddam and his henchmen murder more than 350,000 of its own citizens over the last 25 years.

No, freedom requires no apology, unless one on the left would like to apologize to them for the UN failing the people miserably.
