I have a desktop PC and 2 laptops with a 2wire wireless modem. How do i set the network up so that the laptops can access music/movie/data files that are on the desktop? The desktop is directly connected to the 2wire modem and the laptops are wireless.

hey,
turn on wireless connector every computer to search for devices. if it finds your other PC or laptop connect or if it doesn't you must have a CD with a wireless connectors use it to install the connector. dude try this and you will have your own LAN.

Add a hub to your Desktop and set up your network through it.Remember to enable file sharing on all devices.
