I have an eMac,
model: PowerMac6,4
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.1)
Number of CPUs: 1
CPU speed: 1.25 GHz
L2 cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 512 MB
Bus Speed: 167 Mhz
Boot ROM version: 4.8.2f1
Serial Number: VM432065QJB

I originally had Mac OSX 10.3.9 and it kept freezing completely and not allowing me to do anything so I had to manually restart it. This happened frequently and it seems randomly. It would just suddenly freeze, the number of programs open didn't seem to matter either, it still happened with just one open. In looking at its logs it appears that it wasn't registering the crashes / errors when it did freeze so I thought it might be a problem with the operating system itself.

I have just upgraded with mac OSX Tiger (10.4.8), yet it has still crashed (frozen) a few times since doing this. Any idea what I could do to find the problem or any suggestions?

Did you upgrade from Panther or did you perform a clean installation of Tiger. It's always best to perform a clean installation. Have you tried running the Disk Utility and repairing the file permissions? This is usually the first step in fixing a problem. Sometimes the file permissions will get out of whack and cause problems.

Also, try resetting the PRAM and PMU. These are also common solutions to Mac troubles. Here's a link:

And to whoever gave me the thumbs down, get a life.

There might be nothing wrong with your computer other then the CPU speed ( 1.25 Ghz ) is a bit on the slow side and could struggle when it loads software in to run, the current speed now days is between 2.00 & 3.00 GHz to cope with most applications.
Rather than try and make the old computer work faster have you ever thought of buying a new up to date mac pc, for all your problems would be resolved in one move. good luck

RAM received't help. What you should do is figure ur computing device in a cool and dry ecosystem. both artwork in an air-conditioned room or purchase a really sturdy computing device cooler to positioned less than ur computing device. both way, backup ur information into an exterior storage media as there's a intense chance that it would want to die quickly. i'm from Singapore the position the accepted room temperature in color is 29oC and humidity is typically above seventy 5%. computers do not very last lengthy right here by way of warm temperature.
