When a man and woman are in a commited, living together relationship, and the man wants to spend his free time at home or with his buddies. doesn't want to take his woman out and do fun things, is he taking her for granted? How do you change the dynamics in this relationship?

The first part to this: How about going out with friends without him. If you need to get out of the house, by all means, do so with some friends. He will be greateful that you can have fun without him. Second: You two DO need to have time to enjoy each other once in a while outside the home. My guy and I have a date night at least three times a month. Just talk to him and let him know it's ok that he goes out with friends, but you would really like to enjoy some time with him too outside the house. Ask for a date night every other weekend. Take him out on the first date. Arrange something nice and fun. Otherwise, things are going to get stale and comfortable...two bad ingredients for a relationship.

I don't think this alone would constitute being taken for granted. My guess is a lot of guys are like that, especially before they're 30 or over. I wouldn't read a lot into it. At least he's at home or with his friends and not a lot of other places. I would let him know how you feel though, and if that doesn't work, just start going out and doing fun things without him. Pretty soon he'll realize that he's the one missing out, and then maybe he will start joining you.

Well, the woman should take the man out to do something, like bowling, or something fun.

No, you should go out with your friends and have fun. You and your partner don't have to be attached at the hip.
