I am an organ donor, never thought of it as selling parts, when I am finished with, anything someone can use can have it.
If you need any organ, the US has an organ donor bank but would have to be matched and cross matched.
Many people waiting for livers, hearts, lungs, kidneys.

Well that's not surprizing. In the USA, at this time, organs are donated. I am sure that in the future this will change. You will be able to get a fee for your organs. That fee would go to your survivors or to help pay for funeral cost.

I saw something on PBS last year about people in India selling their organs. Kidneys were being bought for as little as $800.

"Dr Raymond Crockett, debarred from practising in Britain in 1990, for professional misconduct, arranged for kidneys to be bought from Turkish people for 2500–3500 pounds sterling" http://jme.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/31/6/362

OK - Price in US, and most of developed world = Time in jail
Price in places like India depend on organ. I think I heard about $3500 for a kidney, plus operation costs.
