During a circumcision, the prepuce or the foreskin, which is the skin that covers the tip of the penis, is removed. Circumcision is usually performed on the first or second day after birth. It becomes more complicated and riskier in infants older than 2 months and in boys and men. The procedure takes only about 5 to 10 minutes. A local anesthetic (numbing medicine) can be given to your baby to lessen the pain from the procedure.

Circumcision is the mutilation of the male sexual organ by the removal of the highly sensitive and protective "foreskin" that covers the glans (head) of the penis when it is not erect. It is done as a religious ritual for Muslims and Jews and enjoyed a period of popularity among other groups in the United States, first because it was hoped that chopping off the most sexually sensitive part of a man's body would keep him from masturbating, and, after that was a spectacular falure, in the mistaken belief that it was somehow cleaner. Now that too has been shown to be a myth, and fewer parents are subjecting their babies to this hideous procedure each year.
Male genital mutilation is very rare in Latin America, Europe, and non-Muslim parts of Asia and Africa. It is also quite uncommon now in Canada.

Circumsions are when the excess skin of the penis is removed. Most males have their done while they are infants. It's hell when you become an adult, and have it done. If you are an adult whom never been circumcized you have to keep yourself extra, extra clean because bacteria and funk is there more than average. To much skin is not attractive, and considered unsanitary.
