It depends on the album, condition of the album, and where you buy it from. I bought a brand new album for only US$0.50. But I think I got it for that price because it wasn't such a huge seller (it only sold 250,000 copies).

A CD (depending on content) it is cheap. A LP record about average for a used copy that is playable but the jacket is not in the greatest of shape.

That is a decent deal but what is the shipping? Remember to factor that, and then see if it is just wiser to but the thing new, unless you really mean 'album', then well you will have to pay.
