I HATE when it comes from the bottom. I don't even know why but it is my major pet-peeve.

Bottom! And this is why...Yes it may come off the roller easier when on top, but let's be real how difficult is it really when it's on the bottom?? Also, when you go to give it the "big yank" when it's on the top you can't control how much comes off, half the roll comes flying at you!!

Most people seem to prefer the top.
Actually, the important thing is to get
the roll to unravel.
I've always found that's it's wise to do
this with dry hands.

Interestingly enough this question was asked of Emily Post (Etiquette). She replied that it din't matter. Mine comes from the bottom, as this is my wife's preference. My preference, is that it doesn't matter as long as it is there when I need it.

I think it is more easily dispensed when the paper rolls off from the top.

top. if it comes out the bottom, it might touch the wall, and who knows how clean your wall is??
