The book is about a young girl who is a werewolf in a pack in the northeast US. It is set in modern times and confronts what life is like in a pack, how difficult it is to be a young girl alone in life, and how the pack works. It's a very well written novel, Klause shows very well Vivian's thoughts and emotions and what pack life is like. (And yes to the person above me, the movie is loosely based on the book though from what I can tell, much of the plot has been changed.)
I loved the book, it was a wonderful read. Perhaps not a good story for too young a reader since there is some explicit language and whatnot, but fun definitely.

I love books about supernatural creatures such as vampires, werewolves, etc. so when I heard about Blood and Chocolate I had to read it.

I really enjoyed the story and the way the main character depicted her life in the werewolf pack without apologies for they way they lived, even though throughout the book she really wanted something different. I also thought that the ending was a bit of a surprise which I always like in reading a book.
