It should be available now, the Best Buy near me (In Illinois) has alot of them.
Honestly, you should get a Xbox 360, it's superior in every category.

I live in Illinois too, and they are available in my Best Buy as well, so if they are not available to you yet they should be shortly.
Stick with the Wii.

thats nintendos prediction...every major retailer has been sent shipments of wiis accessories pretty much once a week or every other week...if you really want one you can pick one up before march if you know where to go and when...but if you can wait then march will be your best bet...but in all honesty i think you wont find them in abundance until april
