It is too expensive to dry clean it. Can my wool coat be washed at home?

I have used Eucalan wool wash with success on several wool sweaters and scarves. With no agitation and no rinse needed, there is no shrinkage. But I'm not sure it would work well on a coat. Dry cleaning will really keep it looking its best.

Sure wash it if you have a 5 year old kid who wants to wear it when you dry it. Spend the money and have it done right. It shouldn't cost more than $15. A new coat will cost you what? $150?

Not unless you want it 5 sizes smaller and falling apart. I would find the funds to have it cleaned. I have never used DRYEL which you can buy at the store for about 15.00. Not sure how much it costs to clean you coat but may be that would work. I would opt for the dry cleaner.

You could try one of those home drycleaning kits but I would not ever try washing it.
