your a bit young, i would suggest you wait cos it leaves a scar on your face and you may regret it when you dont want it anymore.....just wait till your responsible enought to make proper real life decisions

Well, it's sort of an authority thing I guess. Parents think that because they pay your bills, they have the right to control your life. And they're right to an extent. You should tell your parents what you do, and if you just go and pierce yourself, that'll piss them off. Don't just tell them, though. If they say no, then it means no. What you can do is suck up to them. Be nice, do your chores, do well in school and show them that you're not doing anything bad by piercing your nose, because you're a good girl/boy, whatever you are.

Edit; You're a girl, sorry. Didn't see that.

I don't see a nose ring as being a big deal for 14. I was wondering if your school allowed it. Some schools are iffy on piercings. As for parents... they are all different. Every parent has different beliefs and values.

They see it as rebelling, something they feel their child won't fit into the 'real' world with, be judged on, too independent, not consented on, not their cup of tea, your too young, 'not on my child', etc.

That said,
They need to see you for the real you and understand teenagers need some room to experiment and get to know who they are. I would try to sit your mom down when she's in a good mood and explain your feelings to her. Keep it short, have a point, and back it up with facts. Come to a compromise if possible.

For instance, my friend wanted to get a tattoo when she was a teen. Her mom said draw what you want, save it, and if you still want that in 1 year you can get it. My friend was SO happy and drew what she wanted, but 1 year later she wanted a different tattoo. Her mom said ok, draw down that one and wait another year. She never did get a tattoo because she kept changing her mind, and her mother would have had to be prepared to hold up her end of the bargain is she did in fact still want the same tattoo after a year, but it was a compromise that worked well for both.

hey, im 22, i have a nose ring... but i waited a year to get it.... when i was younger i wanted a tongue ring, so i waited 2 years, and then decided not to get it, and i am thankful i didnt get it, i wanted a nose ring, but i waited a year before i got it, just to make sure it wasnt a passing phase, im happy with it, but remember, its permanent, ur putting a hole in ur face, when i take it out (and i have to for work) it looks like a big black head, i say, wait a bit, if u still want it in a few months, talk to ur mom, maybe she'll see that ur serious and its not one of those passing phases

I think that 14 years is too young, wait until 18. I have a 14 year old and I would not let my child do any piercing until he/she is old enough.

I would just let her keep it, it is already done-it isn't a big deal it is just a tiny little hole. If I was younger I would have mine done too.I think at 14 a little tiny diamond or some other kind of stone would not be so bad, I wouldn't want them to have a giant hoop or anything.

Sorry but here in India normally the 6 years old gets their nose pierced. as about the permanency nothing is permanent when you have plastic surgeons in your country.

i know!!!!!!im your age and my mom did her herself when she was 15. im have a low pain tolerance so im afraid to do it my self and i asked 2 years ago if i can do it and she said wait a few years and i haven't forgotten. i asked her a couple weeks ago if i could get one and she said in a couple of years, you're not old enough. i was soooooo pissed because i HAD waited a couple years and i still didn't get it.
when im a mom, im getting my child's nose pierced young.
i don't care if she wants her downstairs pierced, it's her own body.

1) Because it reminds them of barnyard animals being led around by the nose.
2) Because it looks like it could catch on something and your nose would get ripped.
3) Because it's right in the middle of your face and distracts from, not adds to, your attractiveness.

If they are not such a big deal, then, why do you need one?
