The stomache is really soft and it will sting, but once they start the outline it will numb alittle, just relax when you are getting it and don't drink alcohol before you get it, it will take about 2 weeks for it to heal. I have one on my stomache. I hope the tattoo that you are thinking of getting has meaning, otherwise somewhere down the road you might regret it. Best wishes. =)

If you have never had one before it will hurt.

Follow:

If you have had them in other spots you will have a comparison. The arms generally not that much. The back, yeah!

How big is a factor as well as the artist. I like women tattooists bettter, they have a lighter touch and faster hands.

How long to heal. If you are in cold climate longer (it will dry out quicker and it is always covered), the tattoos I got in the Florida Keys healed quicker.

After care is critical in healing, some artiists will say put nothing on the tat after day two, others the whole time. I like a light layer of A and D ointment. For the first week or so then only when it feels dry.

Generally depending on skin type, it will be a scabby mess for a week or two, then the scabs come off and there is a shiny layer of skin, then that comes off slowly for a week and change, tops three to four weeks to be healed.

Good luck!!!

it wont be too sore there, and will take up to three weeks to heal completely, look after it properly and u will have no problems at all, ignore the advice of "skin virgins" how would they know??? and as for the fashion comment, if ur having it done as a fashion statement-my advice is dont have it done at all, you will have this for ever, think long and hard, and in case you think i'm one of the "anti brigade" i worked in a studio and have many, many ta2's. Go speak to your artist, he will talk you through the experience from start, to finish, good luck

Lower back tattoos are easier to take. As for healing time and other medical questions I suggest the medical search engine on www.webmd.com It has the most up to date medical info on the web.

It depends on your pain threshhold. I only have one, located on the back of my neck, but I enjoyed getting it very much. Even if you do find it a bit painful, the end result is worth it.

Don't let people who say it will be "ugly" when you are older sway you from your decision. Frankly, when I am old and gray, I want to look back and smile knowing that I have lived. (With the exception of smoking and drugs...nasty habits.)

Happy Birthday!

Do not get in on your tummy. If you gain weight or lose weight, for example due to pregnancy..your picture is gong to look ugly. Have it somewhere else. You can take the pain, but you will look it for a long time. Check the place carefully. I am a skin virgin. I would never have permanent tattoos.

I'm not sure about the healing part but tattoos hurt. Especially on sensitive skin patches. They really hurt on your ribcage. (I mean the skin over your ribcage.) So, talk to a specialist or someone like that.

No don't do it. Getting a tattoo is a sin and I think you would regret it. Read the Bible.
