Dream interpretation must be personal, after all..dreams are, so please dont take anybodys (even mine!) answer as the true meaning, though it may be, by coincidence.
Without knowing your background and what the speed/space are metaphors for in your waking life its nearly impossible.

i would hazard a guess that you feel trapped by the slow pace at which your circumstances dictate you must live your life at present?? something is holding you back from the freedom you so desire, perhaps a family/work commitment?

please let me know if that sounds vaguely accurate or just rubbish! cheers.

once you know inyourself what this represents, it can really help with understanding your waking life, so i've read

It is difficult to say what your dream means without some sort of emotional context. How did you feel when you were racing around the country lanes? How did you feel when you came home?

A road normally symbolises your direction in life. Are you racing towards the future, trying to achieve some goal? The fact that you were in the driving seat and enjoying speeding through the open spaces suggest you want to be in control and less cautious in your life, perhaps take more risks and let yourself go?

What is really interesting to me is that you lose control of the car when you come home and try to park. In psychoanalysis, the home represents the self. Is there something about yourself that is holding you back, something that you are mentally "shutting the door" on? Ultimately, you are the only one who can understand your dream as it is part of your subconscious. Think about how you feel during your dream and how you feel when you wake. What do the symbols mean to you? As this dream recurs it is likely that the root of it is really niggling your subconscious. I suspect you have an ambition that you are neglecting because you don't think you can handle it. The fact that you handle the car so well in your dream suggests that, deep-down, you know you can succeed.

Hope this helps.

Recurring car dreams usually deal with life's major themes that may include issues of control and sensibility. By carefully examining this dream, you may gain insight into important areas of life, including to how well you are navigating from one stage of your life to another, if you are assertive and take charge or are passive. The parked car could represent a period of inactivity and indecision. The dream could be pointing out that you have been idle for a period of time and that it may be good time to "get a move on." The more positive interpretation of this dream might be that the parked car is symbolic of a reflective period or mood. You may be in "park" for a while so that you can rest, relax, and regroup while thinking things over

To dream that you are driving a car, denotes your ambition, your drive and your ability to navigate from one stage of your life to another. Consider how smooth or rough the car ride is. Whether you are driving the car or a passenger, is indicative of of your active role or passive role in your life. If you are in the backseat of the car, then it indicates that you are putting yourself down and are allowing others to take over. This may be a result of low self-esteem or low self-confidence. Overall, this dream symbol is an indication of your dependence and degree of control you have on your life.
To dream that you are entering through a door, signifies new opportunities that will be presented before you. You are entering into a new stage in your life, moving from one level of consciousness to another. In particular, a door that opens to the outside, signifies your need to be more accessible to others, whereas a door that opens into the inside, denotes your desire for inner exploration and self-discovery.

Hope helps!

It means that you want to step out of the norm, you know, "free" yourself (body and mind) from all the restrictions in your life. It's like you're bursting at the seams to be rid of all of your responsibilities and troubles, if only for a little while. Once you've had that "time-out", it's hard to get back (struggling to park at home) to your normal routine, but you have to do it. So you shut the door on (to?) your "blissful freedom" and return to reality.
Yeah, that's it.

It may mean that you yearn for freedom and space away from the constraints of your normal day to day life or it may mean you really let your self flow freely so to speak and then when you realise you have to return to normal life you find it a really frustrating process.
Reccurring dreams mean there is something you conscious self has to acknowledge and accept and maybe do something about it to stop the dream(s).

I would suggest that you have a fantasy about how life should be, fast and free, and you find it far more restictive than you would like.

Driving fast through country lanes would have a different meaning for me, if I had the dream, it would mean I was putting other people at risk, for my own enjoyment.

It means you are not seeing something that's right in front of you. Your dreams are telling you something about yourself and / or your life. The recurring dream is reminding you that you still have to OPEN YOU EYES. Light & Love,

You are a person who is really full of life and enjoys it on the inside. You pretend to be someone else to others though, especially around home.
