For a year now i have used form shooting and my midrange jumpers are very veryy good. But i can barely graze the rim from 3 when i shoot using form. Just recently i ahd a 3 point shootout and i had to chuck it to hit the rim. Can anyone tell me exersise to get me stronger in the areas that would make be a better 3 point shooter and give me more range.

The best thing to do is find your range first. First, take a step in from the 3-point line. Second, Shoot as hard as you can with the correct form (5 times is quick, but 10 is the best). Then take another step and repeat by taking more shots. Repeat until you can make the majority of the shots. This spot is your current range (This is good because it shows how much work you have to do). If you practice shots at the very edge of your range (with as much strength as you can behind it), then you will improve your strength and your shot at that distance.

Another drill I like is shooting the ball straight into the air as hard as you can. Setup to take a shot, but release the ball straight up instead toward a hoop. This is good because all you need to do this is any open space with a high ceiling.

You need to practice from short range before you ever get good at long range shots. If you are young, then you just have to let your body mature. Push ups, lifting weights, and eating right will help you do that. Basketball is a sport that uses many muscles, so you can't single one thing out and say that will make you a better shooter.

your legs play a huge part in your shooting. make sure you have good leg strength for your shots cuz the push from your legs will give you more push into the ball. but try to take gradual steps to the 3-point line. keep the mid-range game going and move back slowly. and when you shoot 3's, having a good arch on the shot will get you better results.

i be attentive to how that feels. i'm on my severe colleges varsity squad and that i'm our midsection/powerforward yet can hit a three in basic terms as nicely as absolutely everyone else on the team. I used to hesitate when I shot simply by fact i assumed I should not be shooting simply by fact i'm meant to be a submit participant. After chatting with my coach I discovered you may by no potential hesitate, be a shooter and a participant and whenever you have a shot, take it. Your team and followers won't care in case you permit out a pair yet they'll love you in case you're making some.

Try short range jumpers, then as you keep making them, move farther away from the basket. You mostly get your power to shoot from your legs so, you could try exercising your legs.
