I think everyone is different, you cant just say that everyone is the same.
after i lost my virginity i didn't have a period for 4 months (and i wasn't pregnant and did use protection). It was just one of those things.
There could be other factors as to why your heavier than normal - sport, diet and weather have all made me bleed heavier.
You don't have anything to worry about - if your worried go to the doctor, but unless your bleeding for weeks at a time I'd say your fine.
just remember not every period will be the same :-)

No it doesnt it should have no effect on ur period if u followed birth control methods!
If u dislike getting ur period when u r sexually active it comes as some comfort that u are not preggers! (yes i do use birth control both male and female but still is a comfort)
