Their songs really are controversial... Look up the translations to songs like Embryo, Berry, or Mazohyst of Decadance... And to actually answer your question... I love Dir en grey but I do know people who don't... My friends mom can't stand the way Kyo's voice sounds.... So I guess the short answer is yes there are people who dislike Dir en grey. I'm just not one of those people.

They are actually quite controversial, you just don’t hear about it cause they are not native to the American music scene. Also, I think the language barrier prohibits many people form getting the message—although the visuals alone could do it. Also, remember that the Japanese people are more sexed than us, in their media, it is less taboo for them to see these images. (even though, now or media is becoming like this!!)

But, if the American way of thinking continues to invade the walls of Japan like it had soon they will be a mirror image of us! (media wise!)

Aww.. I am sorry you couldn’t enjoy Dir en Grey, but they are not everyone’s cup of tea I guess…

I saw them on the Family Values Tour last summer and couldn't see what all the hype was about. Of the opening acts from that show, only Walls of Jericho sounded worse, IMO.
