I'm working on a job tying army tanks down to railroad flatcars. The turnbuckle has a gear on it like there is supposed to be a tool to tighten it. We use pipe wrenches. Can someone tell me about the tool we SHOULD be using?

Having tied down my fair share of tracked vehicles to flatbed train cars and HET's it all depends on the type of turnbuckles you are using. I don't think there is any 1 type in use.
Talk to your S-4 and find out where the equipment was procurred from, or better yet get with installation safety. They should be able to get you the proper equipment.

I know the deal, they normally make you work with what you have. But there are specific safety laws and organizations like OSHA that the military must also abide by except in combat.

talk to the people in charge, but if the pipe wrenches get the turnbuckles to turn, the important part is done
