Not at all, they have a collective problem against the short ball (remember Bob Woolmer's slab of marble in England 2006?) but they have two of the best batsmen in the world and a clutch of big-hitting allrounders.
Why did they do so badly (so far - only 1 ODI and 1 Pro20)?
a) SA are the 2nd best team in the world at ODIs by some way
b) half the team has only just arrived in SA
c) yes, they're not mad keen on the short ball.
b) won't be a problem in the World Cup and nor will c) really, most of the tracks in the WI will be slow and low. If they fire Pakistan can beat anyone, even Australia. Unfortunately, if it doesn't click they could also lose to anyone!

Nope !!!
Pakistan is not a crap team , infact they make a very good team, full of talent..but they are not trained well.......'unfotunatly' tino is right, they are not used to with such fast bouncey pitches and thats why they have failed in SA! .... Oh but it does not mean that they can't play at all, well all asian teams are of that caliber.....and i would give pakistan some edge over other teams because they have no doubt better talent than others !

i was watching todays game.. Ramiz Raja (pakistani Commentator) said it perfectly. he said pakistan is not used to playing on these fast tracks, and in also criticized the pitch preparation in that home series again westindies, according to him they shouldve developed faster tracks to prepare for the SA series.. also another interesting point he mentioned was that pakistani players cant play short balls and West Indies it will be more of the same.
btw i didnt make any of this up, watch the recording of todays game.
haha good luck in the Caribbeans, pakistan.

No Pakistan are not crap. Thier world ranking is constant between 2 to 4 since last couple of years. Infact it has been a better team. We should not forget thier victories, when criticizing on them. criticizm must be positive.

While Pakistan have got a very good balanced team with good batsmen, good bowlers and good allrounders, they are predicably unpredictable team as they are not at all consistent in their performance. If they play consistently to their potential, they are capable of beating any team in the world

I think Pakistanis play good cricket but their beards brings then the bad luck. The only way they can remedy that is by wearing turbans.

Actually their playing is pretty good but their appealing is furking appalling. They are cheats of the first order when it comes to appealing. look at the 1991 world cup. They appealed their way to winning it. Talk about intimidating the umpire. Good on Darrell for calling their bloody bluff last year. Cheats!

I don't think any team can beat England for being c**p right now. That win over the Aussies in the one-day international was a pure fluke.
