True heavy metal is never ever dead, the flame of this music will be burning forever and ever and it's immortal.
You can see that many great true heavy metal music been rereleased again in Us and europe. And of course the new bands are also borns, even not too many bands are the true metal bands, but at least they are always exist and rockin' our world with a high tension music.

yes, it's dead. the era that allowed heavy metal to spawn is no longer. teens look to different things now for releasing their anger, emotions, energy.

I'm not saying that the new wave is better than the old wave; nothing can compare to what Metallica, Preist, Maiden brought to the world. Although they rode in on the heels of Black Sabbath and the like. I would say Black Sabbath was completely original. I dislike Korn, Slipknot, all those horrible bands because they aren't doing anything new. They're just putting new shoe laces on an old pair of shoes. When is the last time you heard a band come out that sounded like no one else. Maybe Rage, but that's back in '92 and they basically did the same as Anthrax (thin I'm the Man). Linkin' Park? That's just Rage disguised as a boy band. Tool? They're from early 90's also. But Tool is more original than any other.

Show me something from 2000 till now that is new, I mean completely unlike anything anyone else has done, and ten I'll believe Heavy Metal is NOT dead.

Until then, I'm living in nostaliaville

Popular Music today is the biggest load of crap. The majority of artists are the most untalented cookie cutter corporate duschbags
out there. At least in heavy metal they still have to play the instruments. Is true heavy metal dead? I don't think so. Priest, Maiden, Motörhead, and Slayer have all recently released killer albums. Bands like Linkin Park, Slipknot, Staind, etc. etc., and the rest of this nu-wave metal will be forgotten in my mind. The future of metal is looking great also. Watch out for Mastodon, Lamb of God,
and hopefully Tool keep on carrying the metal torch. P.s. Tool, best Metal band of the last 20 years, maybe ever.

as dead as the mausoleums they sung about
it's an unfortunate too
alot of todays"metal" just doesnt have the energy/drive of the earlier incarnations

like vince neil once said; "you go to a concert to forget about your problems, not relive them with 5000 other lost souls"

Its true that good music is going to die if not dead already. Compare old music to new music.
