I agree that Norton often reduces performance.

I also found Zone Alarm (which I liked in the past) now causes my computer to act sluggishly and take twice as long to boot compared to the standard windows firewall.

It is hard to determine if your performance has been reduced or if your computer is simply outdated.

The PC Pitstop "full tests" runs benchmark tests and also compares your systems performance to identical computers test results. It is good to run the test periodically, especially before and after adding software. This answers the question, is it really slow and how slow is it. PC Pitstop also offers some limited help with improving performance.

Just format it ! This is best solution u can ever have.Transer all of ur useful data from ur Operating system drive to ur non-OS drive and then format ur OS drive.Ur system will become furiously fast after that!

And ya..if don't wanna face such slowness in future start using LINUX for internet .Bye.Good Luck

I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

These are cleanup tools. Ad-aware cleans files, and SpyBot cleans the registry,

You might run your Anti-virus scan.

Go to START and pick RUN. Type MSCONFIG and go to the startup section. Uncheck the programs that you do not need. Keep your Anti-virus checked.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

ought to easily be that your ISP is sluggish right this moment. yet when it would not sparkling up quickly, try disconnecting all of your cord connections and cleansing them with compressed air and reconnecting. also, you may try using a secret agent ware and spyware scanner to work out if something is causing your computing gadget to decelerate. i recommend lavasoft's adaware. i have also had good success with the microsoft secret agent ware remover available by the living house windows catalog information superhighway web site. if not one of the above help, call your telephone business business enterprise and ask in the adventure that they can help out.
