What you do is always the most important thing in life. You can say a lot, have a lot or want to do a lot but you are measured by what you actually accomplish whatever that is.

By far the most important aspect of a successful life is WHO you know! WHAT you know is far less important - because there will always be someone around who knows more than you, so employ THEIR skills and knowledge to your advantage. Concentate on 'making friends and influencing people' and never forget: always be nice to the people you pass on the way up - because you'll pass them again on your way down!

To me that is very simple. Who you are means everything. What you do is just part of who you are. In the long run people will respect you more for what you stand for opposed to what you do for a living. Everyone knows a big-time boss that thinks they are God almighty, but in actuality no one respects or likes them. Concentrate on becoming a good hard working and honest person and "money will follow".

As a matter of fact, WHAT YOU DO actually translates & show WHAT YOU ARE...

For instance, you are passing by a begger in the street and IT IS A HABIT THAT YOU DO ALL THE TIME; i.e., to give money or an aid or assist of some kind....etc.

In this case, WHAT YOU DID (DO) shows and tells me WHAT YOU ARE....

A kind hearted person with a lending hand...

So eventually, WHAT A PERSON IS ALL ABOUT tends to me make him look the way he is and / or acts, and this can be revealed in his deeds (WHAT THAT PERSON DOES)...

WHO you are is most important.

for me, rather than what i am, it's who i am, as opposed to what i do. i may be perceived as being smart, creative, talented but i may also have a tendency to rub people up the wrong way and be rude and unsympathetic. however, i am not rude or unsympathetic, abusive or nasty. its one thing being good at something, but it's also another to remain firmly grounded and remain true to myself and not try to be something or someone i'm not. as well as try to aspire to a certain level or live up to incrediably high expectations which i'll never fulfil, as a individual. i'd rather be respected as a good human being who tries to do my very best at everything, rather than as a good human being who has unrealistic intentions and aims. therefore, its best to be as good as you can be and live up to your own expectations- not anyone elses

I have so many educated friends who do nothing but have absorbed an enormous amount of knowledge. This is no good to anyone unless they use this knowledge. So its 'What you do' that counts

are you talking about profession for what you do or actions you take,if its profession then i would have to say its just a job and that doesn't say who you are,but if you mean actions then action speaks louder then words so you better make sure you are setting a good example

Both are important.
To be and not to do is dead.
To do and not to be is void.
That is why man has both body and mind.
