A spider web is actually created by a spider. A cobweb is just an accumulation of dust - usually formed in the corners of a room.

Spider webs are spun by spiders.

Cobwebs are more controversial - many people say "cobwebs" wheb they mean "spider webs" and this bugs me! (pun not intended...)

I have always thought that cob webs are made by dust - especially in a kitchen or hallway where there are often cooking fumes and greasy stuff. My mom always told me off if she found any cobwebs in my house when she came to visit!!!

However I guess they could be vacant spider webs - only thing is - what happened to the spider ? !!!

A spider web is made by an active spider who at the break of dawn cleans it up, and a cob web is for lazy spiders that does not clean his own web instead only make renovations that is why dust will stick in his house same like lazy people who lives thier life in a mess.

OK a spiderweb is a spiders home and restaurant.
cobwebs are lines of web the spider used to get from one area to another and they get covered in dust. that is how you are able to see them . cobwebs are not vacated homes sorry

a spiderweb is where the spider lives and where it catches it's cuisine. I think,.... a cobweb is an old dead spiderweb that hangs down and usually has dust all over it. I highly doubt that ears of corn spin webs to house all the cobs. LOL OFL
