Yeah. Get off of Yahoo Q&A!! Just kidding! I have the same problem as you described. When I feel overwhelmed, wasting time is my response. I think that subconsciously, I feel that I can never get everything accomplished so why even try?? Where would I start?? The same thing may be the case for you. One thing I do know is that you have to stop this at some point and get things done. If not, that "pile" is going to keep growing and eventually turn into a monster!!
Good luck to you!

Been there! I would start with spending just 10 minutes on one area. Move on to the next and so on. Take 15 minutes an hour to stop and recollect yourself. Make a list and follow it. When you do accomplish something it makes you feel wonderful-really. I always say that on my days off I am going to do this and that. When the day off comes I relax and do nothing. It is all in the mind. You have to mentally force yourself up and moving. Try the list thing first and try and knock off three things to do in a day. Start out slow and it will pick up. Good luck.

Hmm... that's a tricky one, but I've got the answer:
1. Stay with a friend who knows when you are supposed to go, leave, etc.
2. Get an organizer. Stay on the ball. You need to remember things and write down what you need to do.
3. Take up Yoga. This is because you seem stressed trying to cope with your mind on one thing. Chill out for a while. The holidays are coming up soon. Relax.

You are the victim of your own self-fulfilling prophesy. By saying you are always wasting time, you are acknowledging the problem, but excusing it at the same time. You can stay focused, but choose not to. It is a matter of habit and effort. Start slow, forcing yourself to focus for five minutes, then ten, then move on and pretty soon you are just doing it.

Do a small amount of work at a time. Do enough work to suffice. I myself, multitask. I start small projects several at a time during the week, then finish them in the same week. If the projects are to large, I call my friends to help me. This has worked for me for 28 years. For that I have a life and survive the week! Weekends I start large jobs with my friends, and ''get r dun''. In turn when friends need my assistance, I help them out with there projects.

My answer would be to not spend so much time on the computer.
Not to be rude but I do the same thing. Then I find myself trying to get done what I planned on and then do not allow myself enough time.

You need to learn to manage your time. Make a list of tasks to be done and allot a certain amount of time for each one. Stick to your schedule and force yourself to do it.
