We have a term paper in English and my course is architecture. So, it has to be related to my course. Can you suggest any topic? Not broad and I can easily research for it in the net or the library. Thanks!

ok..thanks for your suggestion. But i'm kinda interested in famous structures which are quite specific. Like the Angkor Wat, Taj Mahal, Sydney Opera House, etc. Can you suggest any or choose any from those which would be easy? thanks a lot. :)

I've always been very interested in the ancient architecture of ancient Greece. (The Parthanon and Colloseum). You could explore the difference between the different types of collums they used Dorian, Corinthian, and Ionic.....it's all very interesting and can keep you engaged.

Something anthropological and historical, as related to architecture. an example is why the nipa hut is the typical Philippine house. The reason was that that type of structure was dictated upon the farmers. the tillers of the soil, by the encomenderos themselves, so that anytime they felt like evicting these tenants, it would be easy for them to pack up and go.

i would suggest writing about ancient architecture or maybe middle ages. if this is a term paper for your english class, your professor would look for how you wrote ur paper. modern architecture has become more practical, with a lot of emphasis on how cheap you can build them. ancient architecture's design were influenced by things such as religion, culture, civic pride, etc. those are definitely more interesting to write about.

I had to do the same thing except it was a 20 page paper, I chose 60s pop culture. It was really fun to learn about, there's countless references you can get, and the 60s rocked. I don't know what your options are on fashion, drugs, music, art, sex, or equal rights, but all those things are appealing to me, and they reached a HUGE turning point in the 60s. There's so many interesting things to learn about, without the hippie movement, we wouldn't be half the country we are today.

you could write on the Googleplex, there are articles about it. The place where Google people work and how it's laid out... might be fun
you oculd write on how american homes changed over the years... I head in the 70s the avg home was 1600 sq ft and today with less kids people 'NEED' 2400 sq ft... how homjes changed with media rooms and bonus rooms through the years might be interesting

You could write about why and how architecture varies depending on the climate and environment of it's location. i.e. Why apartment buildings are built different in Minnesota from apartment building in Texas. It would be easy to obtain data to compair and contrast.
