First of all congratulations! You did it! Way to Go! You have a battle going on within your body & mind because you quit smoking, that is 100% normal. Probably when you are sleeping you are thinking about the cigarettes and why you gave them up, lung cancer is a main reason to quit. If you are scared it is already too late for you, go see your doctor and have a chest xray done. It will take the stress off you to know for certainty. Be proud of what you did. If you get the urge when you are awake, breath in slowly and deeply through your nose and exhale slowly and push all air out of your lungs, do this several times and the urge will go away! I have been a non smoker for 12 years now. You did it!

A dream is the experience of envisioned images, sounds, or other sensations during sleep. The events of dreams are often impossible or unlikely to occur in physical reality, and are usually outside the control of the dreamer.
Have you ever heard of a monkey falling out of a tree when asleep? I believe this is because in their dreams they think they are falling, they wake up and grab hold. I believe the same with humans.
Western philosophers of a sceptical bent have pointed out that dream experiences are indistinguishable from "real" events from the viewpoint of the dreamer, and so no objective basis exists for determining whether one is dreaming or awake at any given instant. One must, they argue, accept the reality of the waking world on the basis of faith.
In my oppinion, the chance that your dream is correct would be conincidental. However you are free to think otherwise.

Just because you dream you die of lung cancer doesn't mean you will. Maybe you are afraid you will. If it applied to lung cancer then all dreams would have to come true, and I've had some pretty crazy dreams.

When you dreamed you have found a hill of treasure, were you holding them in your hands when you woke up? Come on man, dreams are true only in dreams world; psychologically, dreams are either refelections of our past actions or the past events or our wishes for something. We many times see in dream we have fallen down from a very high distance, but we wake up at the minute we reach the ground, or even before that in da mid aire, but never have found ourselves at the same position (apart form the ones having sleeping disturbance and walk while asleep). Dont worry, you will never die in real even if you found yourself death in dream for any reason, untill unless your life is really at its end.

It is very common for ex-smokers to dream about smoking. This type of a dream could be called wish fulfillment or a compensatory dream. The smoker misses smoking. He can not smoke during the day, and therefore he smokes in his dreams.

U've been watching tooooo much Nightmare on elm street, or Freddy vs Jason...
anyways, enough with the humor, maybe it's not the smoking, and that you did some thing else wrong that you should've not taken...
Or either that your brain is urging you to smoke again.
don't smoke.... just have guilt dreams for maybe few more days, it'll eventually go away.
Don't think about smoking, don't even think about doing it, quitting was a good idea, so yah, it'll lay off.
