For instance I know that they are constantly harping on about the war on terrorism, and some of their worries and points are valid but are delivered with such a clear vitriolic hatred of the US that I can't deal with them. So can they ever support America? When the first terrorists start suicide bombing targets in the US again, which should start right after the election of a democrat who stops all anti terrorism measures, will the libs want to fight back then?

Not if the polls say fighting back is unpopular. Everything they do is based on polls and their re-election and not the welfare of our country. Even the most of the Republicans are wenies when it comes to taking a stand if the polls say the people are against it. As CNN's Glenn Beck said, the American people are looking for leaders, not people pleasers. Even though Bush, Rumsfield, and Cheney don't follow popular opinion, they don't have enough backing from the rest of the Republicans. There are very few in America today who have the character to do what is right rather than what is popular. It's so sad and basically we deserve what we are getting because we have elected these people into office.

Who says liberals "hate" or don't support america?? The people they are speaking against, republicans, are not "America". That's what you are saying when you write this silly crap.

When this war was started it was not for terrorism. They segued into that when they didn't find the WMD.

For the record, I'm not a liberal or a republilcan. I am a person with a good memory who can spot manipulative bullsh*t and faulty logic though!

And i know you'll give me a thumbs down, but you asked a question. If you don't want an honest answer and just wanted your own brain's logic spouted back to you, then you should post this junk on a bulletin board. This is NOT a bulletin board. It's a place to get answers. People like you clutter this place up!

I feel that I do support America, I want what is best for her and the people living here. I often wonder how the rest of you can sit idly by and watch people destroy the country you claim to love. My question is when are you going to stand up and fight for your country. I do every time I question those in control, every-time I ask why and every time I honestly look at the answer given and not just take it as the truth. I love my country and refuse to sit and watch her be abused.

Libs won't support this country. They support special interests, feel-good legislation, and spout on and on about how we are the guilty ones. How can they support this nation when they, like the UK, are reaching out to hug those who seek to destroy the way of life we have here? If America is the scourge they make us out to be, they should leave this nation, screwed up by the very party for which they stand, and find happiness wearing a burqa and toting an AK47 or suicide vest.

Lets see, the conservatives have obviously done such a wonderful job, lets look at there record shall we. Borders wide open, deficit out of control, countless lies and scandals, invade a sovereign nation that was no threat to us, let the real terrorist run free, record profits and tax cuts for oil corps., no health care, disregard the Constitution, shall I continue, public education is in shambles, gas prices are out of control, the gap between the rich and poor widens daily, i don't have time to list every thing but I will ask you can we afford to have conservative run things any longer

Bush and the republican controlled congress have enacted virtually NONE of the measures called for by the 9/11 Commission's Report. These measures are actions that would have made America LESS likely to have terrorists attack inside America. The recommendations include things like tightening port securty by inspecting the cargo delivered to America's shores by cargo ships, more security measures with public transportation, like subways, railways, etc (terrorists seem to really hate mass transportation), securing America's borders, and other recommendations that make SO MUCH SENSE, one can only wonder WHY haven't Bush and the Republican controlled government implemented them?

I would also remind you that Bush DID try to contract out the security of a significant fraction of our ports to a company in The United Arab Emirates. Do you think that was in the 9/11 Commission's list of recommendations?

Ask yourself, what is a better use of America's resources, a) beefing up security to stop future terrorist attacks in America or b) invading Iraq, which posed no threat to the USA, and which enraged muslims who are now more likely than ever to want to attack inside America?

Liberals do not hate America, they just know that America could have done a better job responding to 9/11. "Fighting back" is fine if it improves our situation. But "fighting back" is not fine when it only makes everyone's situation worse. The Middle East is a PERFECT example of what happens when everybody "fights back."

Back in the late 1770's my family hired a private army to fight the British. When we all won independence from Britain, George Washington offered to pay my family back for the expenses (that left my family indebt). My Great Great Great........Great Grandfather refused to accept money for what he thought was his family’s duty! Now you “Johnny come lately’s” pop up and imply my friends and family are in essence treasonous! Sir, you are greatly mistaken. I doubt you have ever witnessed a man as patriotic as I! A true patriot of a democracy doesn't blindly show obedience to their government like you suggest I do. Obedience is for dogs Sir!

Remember that our nation was founded by intellectuals; you suggest that questioning our government and using ones mind is anti-patriotic. Hockey-puck! When you are a citizen of a Democracy one must be forever vigilant of wrong doers. Those wrong doers can be found outside of our boarder yes, but more importantly the wrong doers who can really cause some damage are the scoundrels inside our nation. Scoundrels like the ones you follow, and lead you to believe that the left are anti-American!

You must step out of your comfort zone and explore what others are truly saying.

You know what you are saying could instigate a civil war? Haven't we already done that once, and almost lost all that we have worked and died for?

I don't support what the President is doing.

There's a big difference.... and not understanding the difference is why some of us have problems.

Even the President yesterday said something to the effect of "the war causing a whole in the country".

They do support America, you may not support 3 out of 4 people in this country... i understand its your proactive, but let me ask you, can you ever support the rest of America, even if they are what they are, and aren't what you want them to be? Where is the support for your own kind?

That is to say if your own kind is the people of this nation, and not just the people of your shallow minded political party...
