When i was at school i was discriminated against for many things,i would always let it get to me because i was to scared to stand up to the bullies and i'd take it to heart! As i've grown up and become an adult i've learnt that just because someone has a problem with you it doesn't mean jack. If you're happy with the way you are then it shouldn't matter what anyone else says or thinks. You're you because that's who you want to be,just be proud and don't take any notice of the ignorant! They're probably just jealous or scared of you for whatever reason. Just live your life how you want,be happy in yourself,be proud of who you are and forget about the twats in this world. That's what i say!!! After all they've obviously got miserably boring lives anyway or they wouldn't be the way they are, would they!!!

they dont cope just get on with it. its very hard sometimes. i was discriminated against for being fat, got stabbed in my stomach for it at school. also my partner is a cross dresser he is discriminated against for that. people need to be open minded and look at the person for whats on the inside not just the shell.

I have known several people who are "different either by colour, religion, sexual preference, disability, looks or intelligence" and I think any kind of prejudice or bias is a most despicable thing. I do not believe in pigeonholing people, all people are special. To answer your question they cope because they know that what others think of you does not matter only what you think of yourself.
"God" made all things and all are beautiful in their own way. Just remember that people that discriminate are very small minded and probably lonely. You are better than them.

It depends on where the discrimination occurs. If it's in public, I "let them know" about the discrimination in no uncertain terms. If it is at a Job, I report it according to their policies at the job. I do not put up with it.

its all about having a thick skin in my opinion, you have to remember that you are the "same" as anyone else except fro who you sleep with, if the discrimination gets too bad then report it all the way, its the in thing now. i was the first person in Norfolk to get someone an ASBO!

I used to be extremely sensitive and emotional to criticism, but I have learned over the last two years that other people's opinions don't matter unless I ask for their opinion, other than that, I do what I want, and I ignore criticism...
