I have not been it that kind of situation yet and I do not speak English as my first language neither but I think it is possible to explain almost everything with your hands and face expressions.

Everyone is capable of learning enough to get them by.But if it is that difficult for you,Maybe you could get yourself an interpreter,Or the quickest way I've found out is to find yourself a local girl.Believe me,You tend to pick it up quite quickly this way.
