Do you know what it's about? I found these possibilities in WorldCat. Hope it helps.

Gooney Bird Greene - Lois Lowry (chapter book about a little girl)
The Good Bird - Peter Wezel, 1964
Reggie's No-Good Bird - Nellie Burchardt, 1967
Never Ask for a Goochoo Bird, a Good Manners Story - Katherine Marcuse, 1962
Goodbye Little Bird - Mischa Damjan, 1983
The Goori Goori Bird, from a Legend of the Bidjara People of the Upper Warrego - Grahame L. Walsh, 1984

If you have any other clues about what the book is about, post them as comments and I'll take another look. Good luck!

If you live in the UK try asking the staff in Waterstones. They are brilliant at locating books on the vaguest of descriptions. I've been in twice recently; I could only describe the cover of one book I was looking for and they found it straight away.

Try "booksearch-at-hay.com" They're a bookshop and book finding service from Hay-on-Wye, If you've ever visited Hay you'll know that for a very small town they have loads of bookshops, and probably more second-hand books than anywhere else!!!

Go to www.alibris.com they have 60 million hard to find or out of print books. They have a great service, it is not expensive and they ship on time too. The best thing I have ever found on the net.
