personally, i think the Japanese are the worst that they are sometimes unrecognizable. for example, they pronounce the r as something like l, and some v as b. what other countries can you think of?

Yeah Japanese, but I also think the Russians are the same way.
Russians mix up the Vs and Ws.

Just call tech support if your computer dies. You won't have a clue what they are saying. Just ask them their nationality. Mostly Indian. Or listen to a lecture by a brilliant Chinese professor of physics. You'll spend all your time being stuck on the sentence he spoke twenty minutes ago. You look around and see the student next to you writing furiously. You ask them if they understand. They say no. They are doing another assignment for another class.

Since I live in Massachusetts everyone says I have the "Boston accent" but I don't really know what that is! I guess I never will because I don't even have one to me!


And ever think about this, its not them that has the accent, its you that has the accent!

My mother tongue is not English so maybe I am not a very good judge, but still seems to me that the Chinese are way ahead of everyone on this one.
I had a Chinese field engineer colleagues and they were almost impossible to understand..
(great people though!)

I am a southern American, I know I have a very southern accent, but to me the French have a very strong English accent.

I think there is no strong or weak accent.
They all have accents.
The accents are only different.
