If so, what do you like to do there for fun? Besides the usual partying of course. Im going in a few weeks and I would like to know if there is anything fun I should check out.

I *LOVE* this place!! Go to Mickey's for breakfast, lunch or dinner and enjoy his homemade tequila..on him! He takes his bottle around to every table and does shots with everyone...yes, even during breakfast! Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee at Santana's..great folks there! There's also a fabulous restaurant on top of the hill..I don't remember the name of it but it's a HUGE yellow building & ya can't miss it...the best bacon wrapped shrimp!! mmm! My brother in law lived there for the last three years of his life & just passed away last summer :-( If you aren't staying at La Roca Hotel, you should at least check it out...it's believed to have housed Al Capone! It's also haunted! *woo hoo* GREAT place! Great town!! Fabulous people!

Puerto Penasco is Spanish for Rocky Point and is an American/European enclave. The Taco Bell Restaraunt in your home town is more Mexican than Puerto Penasco. You will find more Anglos than Mestizo's. Lots of very expensive million dollar + homes line the beaches south of town and condos on the beaches north of town start at half a million dollars. Several destination resorts are under construction in area. The street and directional signs are in English and Spanish, and almost the entire Mexican population is bi-lingual. You will find the usual resort attractions there, including snorkling, diving, para sailing, etc. Just open your eyes and you will find something to do. Remember to bring lots of $$$. Like any resort area, it all cost money.

Mexico is full of places that I would go to before Puerto Penasco. My view (just mine) is that it's almost entirely American expats, retirees and sportsfishermen. They love it and I'm not putting it down, but it's not particularly "Mexican."
