I have been looking at these sites that guarantee to remove all evidence on my computer to where it can never be pulled up again. I want to do this just in case there is any information I have entered through the computer that will allow a hacker to get a hold of my credit card information. This really concerns me because my ex told me that he was a computer hacker and that he could get any information from my computer that he wanted? I tried to download a program but it was very expensive. Can this be done for free?

http://www.eusing.com Use this link and download this SMALL FREE PROGRAM, and run it. AFTER you download it, REBOOT and it will do what you want it to do. You also have an option to Password protect it so only you can open it and run it. Do it now as it only takes about 5 minutes to do the whole process, and your infor will be written over 10 times, (another option) by DOD Standards. If you need any help click my Avatar and get my email address and I will walk you through it. You will do just fine though as it is easy once you set the options. Go for it my friend.

I think all you need to do is, remove all the temporay internet files, cookies and history information from your computer. Then there is nothing left for the hacker to track as to what you have been doing. You should however, be vary of software like spywares and keyloggers. A regular antivirus will provide defence against most. You can also try an antispyware program like Windows Defender. You can download it for free from:

The steps at this site will help clean up the system and delete cookies, temp files etc:

Ok if your paranoid enough:

Download a free program like Darik's nuke and boot:
http://dban.sourceforge.net/ place it on a floppy disk or burn it
to a cdrom

Reboot your Computer with the cd or floppy disk

Then choose a goverment grade wipe that will do 33 or 36
passes on your computer (this could take hours) when the
wipe is finished your computers harddrive will be completly blank everything will be gone.

You can then reformat the computer with a genuine Vista
or XP disk with a legit key.

you can still keep the information if you have a firewall installed in your computer. No one will be able to hack your computer.
