No man, you were still born and given that name. Your driving licence, passport, and all current documents need to change, not your birth certificate. That's really cool man, wicked. I wrote a short story about a teacher who changed his name to "Wilson's Grammer School" for a week and bolted with half a million quid of school fund money. Tyhe very best of luck with the book man, really mean that.

No, your birth certificate will always remain the same. I'm not sure it even goes in the archives, you just get a solicitor to write up a deed, show your birth certificate and sign the deed.

You can't change your Birth Registration - it happened and it stands for all time. A copy of the Registration will remain in the local Registrar's Register and in Central Records. Do you still have Citizens Advice Bureaus in Scottish Towns? If so, they will guide you through any legal procedures - what you need to do and how to register your change of name.

You don't actually need a deed poll. As long as it is not for fraudulent or illegal purposes you can call yourself what you like.
But you are stuck with your birth certificate for life.

I don't believe so. I think you just get the "deed poll" which says "Mister Colin Culk has now become Mister Super Incredible" or something.
