i have posted a question about what rot looks like and found that my beloved betta has fin rot and im devastated because ive only had him for a month!!! what causes rot and how do you get rid of it QUICKLY? i dont want a fish with no fins please help

There are antibiotics you can buy from the pet store in the fish section

Make sure your using the right conditioner what kind of Betta is it? I had a betta and im treating him with Betta fix hes improving, It would help to get filter and if your fish has fin rot move into an area where there isn't many plants and treat him until you see his fins stop deteriorating and color returns to the fins if it is bad enough, also sometimes it isn't good to change the water too much, i find because it's like when you wash your hands to much you wont b as amune to disease if you are too clean, and your hands get dry. Just from personal experience

You need to keep the water very clean, it may be an infection. I have saltwater fish so I am not sure but I think you can dip them in a light Epsom salt solution.

water changes and non iodized rock salt about 3 teaspoons per gallon for a few weeks. Nothing works over night.

Go to petsmart and get PimaFix (treats fungal and bacteria infections for salt and freshwater fish)

i use maracyn and maracyn2 in combination. they are antibiotics.
