Indianembassy.ru belongs to the Embassy of India in Moscow. They cannot help you.

You need to consult Russian Embassy in New Delhi (and/or they must have consulate in Mumbai)

Russian visa procedures take time and mostly you are supposed to bribe the clers & officers in the consulate.

If your wife is Russian, how come doesn't she help you read texts in Russian anyway?

For a remote possibility: If your wife ran away from you back to Russia and if you intend to chase after her .. please know that getting visa to Russia would be your smallest concern.

The country is vast, huge and the people cannot get along with foreigners -especially those who travel alone. If you don't speak Russian and/or if you can't get any help from the locals there, don't even think about going there...

You cannot possibly find your way to Moscow city from te Sheremetyevo Airport on your own.

If for any reason you cannot read/find a translation for Russian text on Russian consulate sites, there is always an option for you to switch to English and sometimes other languages. All you have to do is look for a little flag emblem or letters "ENG" somewhere (usually on top) on the page. Many sites, including my own country's Embassy's site here in USA have their opening page offer three choices of languages, which includes English as a common language for business and politics in most of the world.

Another idea would be to search on-line for Russian tour agencies. Many of them provide visa support for foreigners and MOST of them have at least one person on their staff that speaks English. They will be able to provide you with necessary information, write letters of invitation if they are needed for obtaining a visa and book hotels/tours/excursions/etc for you.

Good luck!

To apply for a visa to Russia you'll need a Confirmation from a travel agency (i.e. you'll have to book your holiday first) or an Invitation from somebody in Russia (if you're visiting relatives or friends).

If you're in the UK, you'll then have to apply in person in the Russian Consulate. Their website has all the relevant information in English (see the link below). Good luck in getting the visa and enjoy your visit!
