first few comments on other answers given-

Tuco - America is breaking eggs in IRAQ and making omelets in USA.

just me - you said "It's mostly Iraqis killing Iraqis now", these killings were not there when America was not there. as a ruler Saddam might have punished few rebels. America is following divide and rule policy. this policy worked well for them when used by British in many countries. don't forget lawyer of Saddam was also killed. Current president of IRAQ also showed interest to resign !!

Bryan_ - you are saying this out of frustration because you Americans can't accept the fact.

C J - you are a FROG in the well, can't see other than 9/11

"My View" - America attacked IRAQ because they feel insecure, they are very selfish, can't see anything beyond their own interest. they think life of non-American is not as costly as Americans.

As an American, I sadly agree with you. So many people in my country have this attitude like, "We're the best! Everybody else sucks!". I dont know if it is because they choose not to see and relate to the rest of the world or if all the patriotic-nationalistic brainwashing from school is the cause but yes...I personally know people who have gone into the military that were actually looking forward to killing strangers. How sick is that? Here in America when 9-11 happened people were so taken aback by it. I felt like it was something that was inevitable. Why does America think we are immune to terror when we spread terror all over the world? It's just another example of how Americans think they are better than everyone else. So, yes friend, you are right.

America saves millions of lives every year with aid of many different types- but, that aside:

Your question puts a generalism on all humans in America, as if we are all a one- minded entity. We have various views on what's going on in the world. At a time of war there is always death and sorrow. War is a terrible thing and is a fact that we as humans have all had to deal with throughout time.

All cultures, all countries, all people have, somewhere in history, been attacked.
All cultures, all countries, all people have, somewhere in history have attacked others.

We, none of us, actually own where we are. We have all moved in from somewhere else. One just needs to go back in time far enough.

America is full of different people and we all have different views. To say "America is killiing innocents..." makes it sound like the Iraq hasn't. We are at war. It is sad. Innocent deaths are wrong, but a fact we can't change.

Try to see that we are individual humans.

You sound sad and angry. Peace be with you.

Absolutley not. They didn't care about the 3 million slaughtered like cattle when we left Vietnam and the won't care about the 2 million that will be slaughtered in Iraq when we pull out.
Whether we are there wrongly or not we now have a responsibility to protect the innocent children of this country.

I disagree. The American troops, whatever you say about them, one thing you have to admit is that they adhere to the strictest rules of engagment of any other military force in the world. This is a testament to how high we value human life outside America, which goes beyond opinions on yahoo answers. It's a fact. Now if you hate our troops and believe they are all idiots, that is another discussion.

Have you gone insane?
No matter what you think about the U.S., you can't deny the fact that we have given VERY generously to charitable organizations that are dedicated to helping people across the globe. Don't you remember the earthquakes, tsunamis, famines, etc when th U.S was one of the first countries to respond?? Not just with money, but food, medicine, manpower, etc?? Are you trying to f@cking tell me the US has NEVER helped anyone outside the US???? What the hell are you smoking? Yes, the war is F@cked up. Yes people are dying, but remember It's a war! Those type of things tend to happen IN A WAR! Many Many Americans disapprove of the war. I'm one of them, so stop bashing this entire nation which you know very little about!

Be careful honey, your bias is showing. It's mostly Iraqis (and other Muslim extremists) killing Iraqis now. It's been that way for longer than the Americans have been there though the killing was more organized & hidden when Hussein was in power. Should have left him in power. Seems that country needs to be ruled with an iron fist.

I suppose Shi'ite and Sunni car bombs and suicide bombers have not killed innocent lives? What about Arab snipers? What about IED devices planted alongside roads to kill soldier and civilian alike? Is that valuing human life?

What makes you think that we take human lives for fun? Or don't mind doing it? Do you think we woke up one day and said, "Yeah, let's go overseas and begin a war! "

If I recall, Islamic terrorists flew aircraft into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, and the death toll in that day was over 3000. Was that consideration for human life?

Islamic radicals have shelled Israeli cities, targeting civilians only. Is that a regard for human life?

The Qu'ran states, "Take not a Jew or Child of the Book ( Christians ) for a friend. Those who reject Allah as God, and Muhammad as Prophet, kill them! " Is that regard for human life?

Thousands of Christians were killed and many were maimed for life by having their limbs chopped off with machetes in Sierra Leone by Islamic militants. Is that regard for human life?

Muslims killed hundreds in Madrid by bombing their railroad. How much regard for human life was that?

Muslims killed scores of people in England, how much regard for human life was in that?

Truck drivers, reporters, security officers, civilian contractors and other innocents have been kidnapped, tortured, and beheaded by Islamic militants in Iraq. Where is the humanity there?

I seriously think you need to look in the mirror and ask who is the real culprit in the taking of innocent lives. Also consider who began this violence. You forgot to mention that the US has built hospitals, schools, and practically rebuilt the entire Iraqi infrastructure since 2003. You forget that the US threw Saddam Hussein out of power and the people are now free of dictatorship in that country. Hussein killed thousands with poison gas, torture, executions, etc. Where was the humanity in that?

We're not biased. We are doing the dirty work that no other countries have the stomach to do. And yes, we take the heat for it. Maybe you ought to consider who is the real killers in this world, it certainly isn't the USA.

The Iraqi people ought to be damned glad we're there!

Oh, by the way, over 3000 US service deaths since 2003. Where is the humanity in that? I guess they have no value, do they?

If you are an American, you are the enemy within. You are a terrorist. You should pack up and leave immediately or be imprisoned and/or hung.

If you are not, then we DO NOT have to justify anything to you. But for the record, I'd gladly kill a hitler in a head scarf and a filthy night shirt to save an American any day.

What are you, some jaded Palestinian who bombs the heck out of shoppers in the market place and condemns the U.S? Don't be so obtuse. Name one innocent nation out there. There is none. Interesting how you pick only on the U.S. Sounds like another
brain-washed rant from a university clone.
